In this two-day workshop we will explore how to create luminous, atmospheric paintings that capture the feeling of an interior space. Working from figure and/or still life set-ups, we’ll focus on composing clear value structures, organizing light and shadow, and using color temperature to convey mood and depth.
Through demos and plenty of individual feedback, Dominique will guide you step-by-step, from block-in and big simple masses of value and color, to refining detail and edges. Students may choose to focus on a figure in an interior, a still life in an interior, or a combination of both, depending on their comfort level and interests.
This workshop is suitable for oil painters (and adaptable for acrylic painters) with some basic experience, as well as adventurous beginners who are eager to deepen their understanding of light, form, and composition in a supportive, structured environment.
